Adhesive Solutions for Solar Cell Assembly

  

Applied in full-length strips or in sized pieces as dictated by a specific manufacturing process, SOLARHOLD Cell Holding Tape is used as a production aid to hold silicon cells in alignment until the Ethylene Vinyl Acetate film melts and encapsulates the cells, preventing any potential shifting.
This transparent product will not bubble, blister, discolor or affect the cells' performance.
SOLARHOLD HT-1002 and HT-2002 cell holding tapes offer superior bonding strength to many surfaces, including photovoltaic cells.
• HT-1002 is a 75µ acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive, utilizing a 50µ PET face.
• HT-2002 is a 75µ acrylic based pressure-sensitive adhesive, utilizing a 50µ ultra violet PET face.
Both products are paired with a 78# tow-sided, densified kraft release liner. Additionally, these quick tack adhesives exhibit strong resistance to movement and offer good continued use under aging and extreme temperature conditions, ranging from -40°C to 150°C.


  


Perfect where high-temperature and high-strength bonds are required, SOLARFAST UV Cure Adhesive System can be used as a replacement for ultraviolet curable liquid adhesives in flexible cells, simplifying the manufacturing process. The free film adhesive initially bonds similar to a typical pressure-sensitive adhesive and the final bond is initiated through UV light.
Designed for concentrating and flexible solar applications, SOLARFAST UV Cure Adhesive System high-strength solar bonding tapes (SF-1003 and SF-1005) have been tested and proven to resist 200°C temperatures while maintaining a secure bond. This product includes SF-1003, a 75µ free film adhesive and SF-1005, a 125µ free film adhesive. Both are protected by a two sided, 130gr release coated, brown kraft liner.

   

Excellent for use in concentrating solar applications that use mirrors to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam, SOLARCONNECT Mounting Adhesive is designed to secure mirrors to their mounting structures. The adhesive is available as a free film or with a polyester (PET) carrier and has been tested in various applications for more than 25 years, with proven success.
SOLARCONNECT Mounting Adhesive includes CS-1003, a 75µ reinforced adhesive film and CS-1005, a 125µ adhesive free film. Both are protected by a 120gr polycoated white kraft liner. The acrylic adhesive offers good clarity and has excellent resistance to UV light exposure




  

Used as a cover for solar-cells, SOLARBARRIER Face and Back Films are made with a hard-coated UV facestock, pressure-sensitive adhesive and a barrier. These barriers limit UV, moisture vapor transmission rate and oxygen transmissions. Films are designed for protect cells for 10 years.
MACtac's SOLARBARRIER High Barrier (HB) and Medium Barrier (MB) structure is a PET based film, available with or without adhesive coating:
• HB-2000 (Non-adhesive),
• HB-2001, with 75µ adhesive,
• MB-2000 (Non-adhesive),
• MB-2001, with 75µ adhesive.
Both adhesive barrier films have a 120gr densified kraft liner.
